Weekly Forecast

After a great month, the World Cup has finally come to an end- and normality has been restored to our lives!

The exchange rates have been excellent recently, and many clients have already been taking advantage of these rates when purchasing from Sterling; However if you are still yet to purchase- take a look at what is coming out this week to aid your decision;

Tuesday-

9:30am- GBP Consumer Price % Producer Price Index (CPI is an inflation indicator, and this data is expected in stronger than last month at 1.6%- previously at 1.5%- stronger inflation for the UK indicates a further need for interest rate rises- which is good news for the UK economy.

10:00am- BOE's Carney, Kohn, Taylor & Bailey are questioned by Lawmakers- This may have no effect on the markets at all, but it is probably wise not to trade at this time just in case the BoE governor mentions anything to do with interest rates- which usually has a sharp effect on the market.

Also at 10am we see the Euro Zone ZEW survey for economic sentiment- which is due to come out weaker than expected- so due to this, tomorrow morning may be a good time to look at purchasing Euros from Sterling!

1:30pm- USD Advance Retail Sales- Expected figures are due to be stronger than previous at 0.6%- it is no secret that the U.S economy is recovering and the over priced exchange rates are due to come back down soon.

AT 3PM Yellen is giving her testimony to the Senate Committee, which may give the USD some strength, due to last weeks claims that tapering should be done by Autumn, I think it is safe to say the GBPUSD exchange rate will be back on it's way down.
