Weekly briefings on Pound Sterling, Euro and US Dollar markets.

We have seen yet another eventful week on the markets, the first piece of big news that hit us this week was a statement from the Fed that the U.S will put up interest rates irrespective of their economic situation- this news alone put massive strength into the Dollar. This statement in some senses was confusing given Yellens comments last week, however it seems that a strong Dollar is what they want and they feel that an interest rate hike will boost the economy. Following these comments, on Friday we saw massive improvements in the U.S employment data- The Non Farm Payroll data came out strong, alongside a lower level of unemployment than last month. Due to these figures and the announcement we saw GBPUSD go from 1.55 down to 1.50, and EURUSD down from 1.14-1.09.
For those who have been following my blog, I have been predicting a strong Dollar for the past 6-8 months, and now we are about to enter 1.40 territory again- so for those of you who have USD requirements and want to know what the next move will be then I do urge you to contact me for a free consultation- Many clients of mine managed to fix in exchange rates above 1.70, but right now at 1.50 we are not at an all time low and it is never too late to start hedging yourself.
Now for those of you who watch the Euro, then you would have seen GBPEUR go from 1.35 up to 1.39 over the last few days, and the reason for this is very simple. With the USD growing in strength, investors start to perceive this currency as a "safe haven" and pull out of volatile currencies like the Euro. I think 1.40 is most definitely on the cards however it is important to note that the UK general elections will inject volatility and uncertainty into the markets, and as we have seen this year, political uncertainty usually leads to weakness in currency.
If you have personal or business requirements in foreign currency, then please do not hesitate to contact me for a free consultation on your requirements- I am not a currency broker; I am a currency analyst, what this is means is that I am here to understand your requirements and mitigate any exposure you have on the FX markets, and at the same time, provide you with an unbeatable exchange rate.
